Starting Pre-School

How to register
You are welcome to visit Rising Fives to see the activities, the environment and have a personal chat with the staff. Please call the pre-school on 01256 893708 and ask to speak to the Manager, Judy Bright, to arrange an appointment.

If you decide to join us, complete the Application Form, returning it to Rising Fives with your deposit. You will receive a letter acknowledging your deposit and confirming that your child is registered with Rising Fives. If you are not able to accept a place, or no longer wish your child's name to remain on the waiting list, please let us know as soon as possible.

Settling in
You are welcome to visit our pre-school with your child before they start.

You may also accompany your child to a 'settling in' session once a week for up to 3 weeks preceding your child's start date.

We want children to feel safe and happy in the absence of their parents, not least because children cannot play and learn successfully if they are anxious and unhappy. If your child has problems settling in, we will discuss with you the various options available to help make them feel more at ease.

Nappies
We prefer the children to be nappy-free, but will help with toilet needs as necessary. It is a legal requirement that plastic gloves (provided by the Pre-School Group) are used in all situations where body fluids are involved.

Fees
All fees are in line with the Early Years Education (EYE) funding rate (currently £8.50 per session).

Early Years Education funding covers children for the term following their third birthday for up to 38 weeks per year (maximum 5 sessions per week). Additional sessions will be charged at the EYE rate.

There is an additional charge of £0.85 for Friday 12:30pm - 3:15pm session (where older children bring their own packed lunch).

Fees are payable weekly, half-termly or termly in advance. All sessions for which your child is registered must be paid for, whether the child attends or not. Payment is only waived if the child is in hospital. Arrears of one month will result in the child being suspended until such times as the fees are met or an alternative agreed.
